Glutamine
Don’t be dismayed by the name — this ingredient is not a gluten derivative. The most abundant non-essential amino acid in the body, L-glutamine becomes essential in times of illness and injury. L-glutamine serves to support the immune system, enhance the barrier function in the gut1 and boost the gut’s production of glutathione2.

GFCF Cinnamon Raisin Rice Pudding
3 cups cooked white rice
3 cups almond milk
2/3 cup raisins
1/3 cup brown sugar (or 2 tbsp. honey)
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt

*In your child’s portion, stir in 3 scoops (about 1/4 cup) of Neocate Junior unflavored to make this a delicious, nutritious dessert!

On December 3rd, Newsweek Web Exclusive ran an article on gluten-free diets entitled “A New Diet Villain.” Peter Bell, president of Autism Speaks reported that although his son did not respond to a gluten-free diet, anecdotal reports suggest “as many as 20-40 percent of kids seem to respond favorably.” Read more.
